hi, does anyone know an easy way of cropping the silence from the beginning and end of mp3 files ?

preferably as a batch process...... I know i can do it in soundforge, but only one at a time and it creates its own files of the track and is just too slow a process wacko.gif

Well as freeware goes. MP3Directcut does real good at cutting the front end
and back end of each song. But you still have to do them one at a time.
When you get the song cut and you are finished it replaces the mp3
without making a new file. You can also cut skips in the middle if you get good enough. Also Mp3gain does a good job at leveling all the volumes.
So you not turning you cd player up and down.
