hi, does anyone know an easy way of cropping the silence from the beginning and end of mp3 files ?
preferably as a batch process...... I know i can do it in soundforge, but only one at a time and it creates its own files of the track and is just too slow a process

well, seeing as no-one came up with anything.......and I did [eventually] . thought i`d share it with y`all. picked this link up somewhere........totally freeware, and lots of different apps for all sorts...enjoy
Well as freeware goes. MP3Directcut does real good at cutting the front end and back end of each song. But you still have to do them one at a time. When you get the song cut and you are finished it replaces the mp3 without making a new file. You can also cut skips in the middle if you get good enough. Also Mp3gain does a good job at leveling all the volumes. So you not turning you cd player up and down.
