Please excuse my "improper" grammar. I guarantee you that I KNOW that "thru" is not a "proper" word in the formal English language. However, in the context which I used it, "thru" is correct. You go to the "drive-thru" to get your hamburger at Burger King. You do not go to the "drive-through".
Additionally, "thru" is listed in the "Oxford American Dictionary" as an adjective, adverb, and preposition; and is defined as the informal spelling of "through".
