This is a little wired. I have not seen this before.
If i log into hotmail, or other sites where i need to log in, or sites that have text boxes (like this one), without me touching anything it starts writing in the box. Reading what apears it looks like it's chat. I can delete it, but by the time i finish what i have ti write, there is more typed stuff in there. This happens with or without messenger on. I am connected through DSL, i have norton internet security, i scaned for viruses and security risks, and everything looks ok. I recently installed XP professional.
WHat causes it?
Please help.

Here are a couple of thoughts:

1. Have you checked for virus' (or is it virii)?
2. Do you have any speach recognition programs installed and a microphone plugged in?

I didi scan for viruses. Norton did not find anything. I do have speech reocgnition (whatever came with xp) but i did not figure out how to turn it on yet. I will unplug the microphone for a while to see what happens.
If it's not the microphone...what else can it be. Have you heard of this before?

As long as you aren't playing music (some people have had that issue of sound leakage) then just turning the microphone off is normally sufficient with voice recognition.

I would have said 'AutoType' was turned on but it sounds more like a virus, or spyware installation.

Yep, with speech recognition software. Try this:

Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options. Click on the Languages tab and look for Text services and input languages. Click Details and look at Installed services. Click Speech Recognition
under the language you are using and click Remove.
