Hello SAF administration...

I have installed a new Invisionboard version 1.0.1 and am looking for some skins and hacks and such. Have you got any good sites for these items?

The best sites for skins and hacking are affiliated with invision board to some extent. I know the two former biggest ikonboard hacking sites combined to form http://www.ibresource.com/ , and the best skins site is http://www.ibskins.com/ . Looks like IBskins.com has broken images on their front page due to them upgrading to invision 1.1, but they have skins for both versions.

I will be checking those places out. I have made some new graphics and they work great, but I get confused real fast inside the CSS and template stuff. Gonna look into some premade skins.

As I recall...you made your own skins and modifications here...correct?

I like the drop down menus at the top. Is that a board wrapper mod?

That drop menu is a javascript menu generated by a program I have licensed for one site. It uses 6 different javascript files to adapt to all the browser types. There are some free options, for non-profit sites, out there that can be used. One I used on this example page for a friend doing a site redesign (he found the menu and sent me a test page first, I sent back this graphic set/layout as my idea for his site template): http://www.mark-h.com/minne/test.html . He ended up using some of my suggestions, but not all of them. Try searching for Javascript Navigation Menus from your favorite search engine, or from the code for that page I modified from my friend, go to http://www.brothercake.com/dropdown/ to get that one. I'm not sure how much that one costs to license, and I'm not up on their terms for it being free, so you may wanna take a look at their license agreement. I bought a lifetime license for the program about 3 years ago, but it's more expensive to license it now I think.

Yes, I responsible for this mess.. er, I made the latest modification to the SAF site template. I added the menu code to the board wrapper, and made the skin adjustments to accomodate it. This way the menu appears on all board pages. I then modified (took me like 24 hours of non-stop trial and error) a portal hack to pull dynamic content into all the site pages.

It's going well...just wish I had more time to spend on my sites. Including the In Care Of Cats website. It needs updating real bad. My Aunt got a write-up in Cat Fancy magazine and they printed a link to the site. I did some minor sprucing up, but I haven't done any major updates in a long while. I plan to go out to her place and get some more pics, too.

Now having said I have no time....what do I do....go out and install a forum...LOL

My new plan is to tie in all my sites into the forum and have a small network with the forum as an anchor perhaps. Lots of work and redesign...so that's why I was asking about skins and such and drop downs.

BTW...I have yet another website on a entirely different server too. It's with my ISP webspace. I don't advertise it because some folks (I surely don't) might consider the content to be adult in nature. I call it art myself....but its portraits I have made using Poser 4. There is some nudity, so I just kinda keep the link to myself so as not to offend or violate AUP at forums.
