Someone just sent me a link to Celtic music on Accuradio, so I'm listening to some of the female artists. Some of it is quite nice smile.gif

Currently got a track called Muddy Water on by Heidi Talbot from an album called Distant Future. Never heard the song before, but quite pleasant and relaxing.

Now. Own up. Who thought I was going to post Moya Brennan or Clannad??????

Lenny Breau-Cabin Fever

Absolutely incredible guitar player. A gifted man who left behind a legacy. If you haven't heard Lenny play, you should try to find some of his stuff. He passed away in 1984 but Randy Bachman of B.T.O and The Guess Who has released a lot of Lenny's recordings. Lenny Breau's sound is very unique. He was a virtuoso who combined bluegrass roots with classical, jazz, flamenco. Its just a trip to listen to him. smiley- thumb up.gif

She now lies in rest waiting on the Lord, and for me to join them 6 months and a day now gone.
Well my song to her. She helg gospel at the top of her list of music while I lik esom eof all but hip hop and boom box music myself.

King X????????????? Never heard of but there is a lot I don't know!!!!!!
treebeard
Kind of a blast from the past for me. I had a tape of King's X when I was in highschool. I just checked out a tune of theirs to take me back!! The are mix fo straight balls out rock, blues, metal, funk, and gospel. Actually thats a little overboard on style fusions but they were good from what I could remember. The singer is good in moderation, but I guess that applies to any thing.

'Wishing Well' by Free becuase I play a little bass with a local band and it's one of the new covers on our set list. Tricky fingering, but a great bass line on that track.

If a song has a great bass line, I hardly listen to the lyrics or anything else except the kick drum. I guess bass players have different DNA. wacko.gif biggrin.gif

Well they brought back good memories and you enjoyed them back then and now. Would say thats cool. And I still don't know them. But music is the driver to turn the world around if done right. So what moves one, another finds other artist or groups. Lets not talk about peace, music as real if it involves a vocal point to wards unsettling times. So enjoy relax and feel the moment.

Dobbie Brothers, great music as I recall. I just never D/L any of their music when the risks were nil. Now with the Music Police watching and suing I buy a CD a month. Slow way to build up an inventory.

Fort Minor....Where Did You Go?

Marcia, that sounds different. I like most all music except the BoomBox shouting nasty words and no lyrics. But I'm old and don't change well with the times.
Just what is it your listening to? For the (like me) music impaired. he, he, he.

Actually it's a song that is from a music genre I don't normally care for. It has special meaning to me because of someone that I love very much and don't get to see very often. It is her favorite song right now. Part of the song is sung by a girl...the other part by the rapper. I will put the girls part in italics and the rappers in bold. It does have bad words which I will have to delete...I don't care for bad words in music or real life either...I think you can get the song in an edited version. Like I said it's not a song I normally would have even listened to, but it means something to someone very special to me.

Artist: Fort Minor
Song: Where'd You Go?

Lyrics:

Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.

She said "Some days I feel like ****,
Some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit,"
I don't understand why you have to always be gone,
I get along but the trips always feel so long,
And, I find myself trying to stay the phone,
'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone,
But I feel like an idiot, workin' my day around the call,
But when I pick up I don't have much to say,
So, I want you to know it's a little ****** up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin',
Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career,
Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?"

I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone,
Please come back home...

You know the place where you used to live,
Used to barbecue up burgers and ribs,
Used to have a little party every Halloween with candy by the pile,
But now, you only stop by every once and a while,
****, I find myself just fillin' my time,
With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind,
I'm doin' fine, I plan to keep it that way,
You can call me if you find that you have something to say,
And I'll tell you, I want you to know it's a little ****** up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin',
Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career,
Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?"

I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone,
Please come back home...

I want you to know it's a little ****** up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', no longer debatin',
Tired of sittin' and hatin' and makin' these excuses,
For why you're not around, and feeling so useless,
It seems one thing has been true all along,
You don't really know what you've got 'til it's gone,
I guess I've had it with you and your career,
When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it...

Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone,
Please come back home...
Please come back home...
Please come back home...
Please come back home...
Please come back home...

I relate to the verse. You don't know what you got till it is gone!
And your reasoning for the song is solid. Good friends are hard to come by in todays world.

Dylan, It takes a lot to laugh, It takes a train..... Guess I am stuck in the 60's lately. lol
