I downloaded this program from there site and it seemed like all went well but its glitching my computer in various areas- The floppy drive is running non-stop but I can turn antivir off and then back on and the floppy drive stops, I couldnt connect to the internet until I disabled the program and unchecked it in (msconfig/startup). when I shut the computer down a weird Norton anti-virus is shuting down and then doesnt respond error occurs
I had none of these problems before I installed the program. I'd really like to have it its supposed to be a very good freeware anti virus program.
I'm running windows xp obviously but what other info can I provide to help you help me?

Was Norton AV ever installed on that system? If so, remnant files may be conflicting with AntiVir.
Unfortunately, I am not well versed with technical issues stemming from AntiVir as I have not been exposed to it for long enough periods of time for something to develop, nor do I use it as my scanner. You should ask the vendor about technical issues concerning their product.

Normal circumstances dictate that 2 antivirus programs should not be active at the same time. One can be active while one can be used on demand for scanning files, etc. The reason for this is that most av programs have their own definition of what is proper activity in the system. With an av being as intrusive as it generally is, it would make sense that one would detect activity from the other as suspicious and seek to stop it. This, in return, causes the same reaction from the other and the results can be disasterous. This is not to say that running two active scanners isn't done, but it is advisable not to do it. And what may work fine today may change tomorrow due to constant updates and changes in the system. I would choose one to use actively and one to use on demand (disabled active or real-time scanning).
