Just curious, if you're asking folks to delete private messages because of storage issues, why is the limit set so high? 200 seems like a lot. Wouldn't 30, 50, or 75 be more than high enough? BTW, I did delete my palty 12 or so PM's.

This is my fault, the default setting for the board is 200 messages. I didn't remember to reduce it. We had it set at 40 on the old board.

I went and I checked my PM's (err.... my 2 that I received about a year ago ) to delete them and they were gone. I assume they were lost in the transfer (no biggie they had no meaning past 3 days since I got them) but what is weird is that the board still claims I have 2.

You probably have them in your 'Sent' folder. Go to your inbox, then choose to switch to the sent folder, below the inbox table. You probably have 2 messages sent in there. We had set the number of messages at 40 instead of 20 so people would have their messenger shut down by the board because they didn't realize they had messages in their sent folder. I just forgot to make it the same as the old board.. 200 is a bit much.

Hi Mark - I have cleared both folders but it still says there are two there? It doesnt really matter from my point of view but thought I might as well mention it.

the reason i wanted everyone to know is when the number of PM's is set to 50 all but 50 will be vaporized.

I checked the Sent Items and Inbox again. I thought that they might be in the Sent Items the first time but I didn't see them and I checked again this time in case maybe when you suggesting that I go look there they would magically appear (hey, it happens like that sometimes in real life! ). Both times, no messages

This might be related to our corrupted database, from when we used a flat file database board. It's probably seeing hidden posts from the database, but failing to display them, as it has on the board. What's strange is, on the board it won't display the posts in limbo, but deletes them from the overall board post count as well.

I'll try to look into this in the database, and see if I can fix it. I won't do anything if there's any chance that it'll cause more problems.
