Hi silverxx12,

As this is a work computer you're talking about, I think you ought to have a word with your IT section as you may not be authorised to make changes to your system.

I know you said that this is not an option, but in reality it is the only option. Usually it is the responsibility of the IT department to ensure the smooth and malware-free operation of the corporation's computers.

In addition, you're not usually allowed to install sofware except that required to carry out the duties of your job.

If they will not help, then at least tell them that you're seeking help from an Internet forum and point them to this thread. At least you've covered then.

Once you have done that, please see this starting point and then this introduction to HijackThis.

Most of the tools we use are free for personal use but not necessarily for commercial use.

Hi silverxx12, welcome to SAF

I agree with Angoid. Corporate computers are subject to corporate rules. You can not download/install/run anything without their knowledge. Your IT guy is responsible for the correct behavior of your system, and there is nothing you (or we) can do about.

Hi,

was just wondering ?

As far as I know, all free programs are free for non-commercial use... anyway, you'd better ask your IT guy or your boss before trying to mess-up wit your corporate computer. If you make a mistake, you can easily lose your job. This is quite common nowadays. eek5.gif
