With random freezes like this, you have to start item by item.

First, Test your memory: go Here and download Memtest (free) bootable ISO (zip file) and burn it to a CD. Set your computer to First Boot Device = CD, and boot with the disk in the driver. Let it run at least 1/2 hour or a full cycle. If you get even one error message, that stick of memory is bad and must be replaced.

Next, open your case and clean the dust out of it, especially the CPU heatsink dust between the fins. Also the power supply grill, case fans, and the video card heatsink. An overheating video card will cause this also.

Make sure all fans are operating and not making any buzzing noises, including the fan that is on your video card, if it has one.

If none of this helps, go to your videocard manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your card. If you have an Nvida or ATI card, you can use those latest drivers. BE sure to delete the existing drivers from the harddrive and also from Device Manager. Reboot; when XP asks for the new drivers insert the CD or point to where they are and XP will install them.

That will get you started. Post back with what happens.

>>>>64mb Video card? i doubt u can play smoothly on that. i would say upgrade your video card.
u have an AGP slot for your video card, right? if so, upgrade to nvidia FX 5500.
