Hi,

Can anyone help me. I have reinstalled windows XP home to a Dell Dimension 4550 but have now lost internet connectivity. Device Manager says there is no driver available for the Ethernet Controller

Ethernet Controller details are:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1039&SUBSYS_01421028&REV_81\4&3B1CAF2B&0&40F0

Dell Tag = BZX6M0J

Can anyone point me to or suggest which driver I should be looking for? I tried using Dell's driver download page (using the tag key) but there were around 70 in total there!

Let me know if you need any more information.

Thaks in advance
William

pcwizard should identify the model. from there finding a driver should be easy.

www.pcidatabase.com

in there you can type in the device or vendor number to help you ID the device.

From the info you provided:
VEN_8086 = here the vendor number is 8086 or Intel
DEV_1039 = here the device number is 1039 which cross references with the Intel number to "LAN Controller with 82562ET/EZ PHY"

Another way to ID is to look at the motherboard (if its a built in card) and google the model number.

All drivers for that system can be found HERE.
