Ok so, Ive had oblivion ever since 2008. I used to play it on my old computer which had a 2.66 Ghz Duo core processer and a 8400 GS, and i played it at medium-high settings. Now, I tried reinstalling and all i get is 10 fps. No matter i go on very low-ultra high there is no difference. My fps is stuck at 10 fps, it wont budge and it stays like that. Ive tried patching, taking mods off, reinstalling oblivion. Nothing.
PS: I have a new system at
q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz
2 GB ram
Nvidia 9800 GT
i can play any game max settings except this. There must be something wrong...

as always the first thing is to remove and reinstall drivers with the latest from the nvidia web site.

I have done that. Didnt work with latest nvidia drivers, didnt work with the latest msi drivers ( My gfx card is manufactured by msi)
I have tried the drivers, i have tried disabling my internet security, i have tried taking the mods off, i have tried playing around with the graphics, i have tried different resolutions, i have tried going into nvidia and changing the graphics from there, i have tried just about everything of my knowledge.

The 8400GS is a very low end card despite the fact that it is in the GeForce 8 series of NVIDIA products. I would recommend saving up for a new card to get the best performance possible.

After any Windows reinstall, you must reload all motherboard/chipset original drivers before you proceed. Windows generic drivers may not work as expected. If you don't have the original drivers, post back your motherboard/model and we'll try to find them.
