heck are these cables about, they got one at 130bucks (thats more than
the player) and another set of 4 cables at 40bucks....we just want to
record and play dvd's on the tv is all....can someone clear this up for me??
I've never had dvd at all...so am totally lost here.... beatsme.gif

The $130 cable is most likely an HDMI cable. The others are probably for a component hookup. Getting those things at the store that sells the player is providing the store with the income to stay in business. They really make their profits on the accessories. Get your cables at an inexpensive place like Cyberguys or MCM.

Okay, I'll bit Jim, what is a HDMI cable, and do I need it?
I had thought I would only need a 3 or 4 cable setup on a dvd??
thanks

HDMI is the highest quality connection currently available, but you'll usually only find them on the newer TVs (Digital). Component input is the next best, found on many 'not-to-old' sets. You can still hook it up with the (normally included) 75-ohm RF cable where you watch it on Channel 3 or 4, which may be the simplest since you want record with the unit. This would provide a 'what you see is what you record' solution if you're using cable or satellite.

Okay Jimholly thanks for the info...we have a 4yr old analog tv,
so I'm guessing the normal included cables should be enuff
for record and watch..
