Hi everyone the last few days i have been haveing problems when i login to my desktop.when i login i dont have any connection.i have a bekin G MIMO Belkin router hooked up so i can use it for my laptop and my sons PS3.Now the laptop and the PS3 has a connection just not my desktop. What i did was run a repair and reset the network adapter and that brings my connection back for my desktop. After all that is done i get a network error saying another computer on this network has the same IP address as this computer.Contact your network administrator for help resolving this issue.Thats about where im at right now Thanks for any advice you can give.

Is your IP address for this system set as automatic or did you enter the machine ip manually ?

Normally, all systems on a network pick a free ip address to work when set to automatic. In some (rare) cases, it may pick an ip address already used by another system on the same network. This used to happen on my own network when somebody from outside connected a laptop to our hub...
Since that, I manually set a different ip address to each system hooked to the network, and never had ip issues anymore.
