I want to change the host computer from my computer to another computer on the network. Its seems like when something goes wrong on my computer(Which is kinda often) it screws up all the computers and nothing can go on the internet. Something always seems to happen when I reformat my hard drive. I was thinking if I made the host on another computer that it wouldnt screw up the network settings. How do I change the host computer from mine to another? Please forgive me if im not making any sense. I am new to computer stuff.

go to the network settings and put the ip of the2 computer to the default gateway and the preferred dns to the computer .add the name to the prefix.

right click on my computer go to the properties and change the name of the computer .

put the name in the suffix of the other computer .

if you want to change the name of the computer

right click on the my computer select the properties and change the name of the computer.
