I need some help. Last night I was online and then was disconnected. I couldn't log back on thru Internet Explorer. When I run diagnostics I get the message "Windows cannot find the host name "ie.redirect.hp.com" using DNS. I waiting til this morning thinking it was an internet problem but I still cannot get online. I don't know how to fix it. I did go online and found others have had the same problem but the sights I saw didn't tell me how to fix it. I am sure it is something simple but I have had no luck. I was running great til last night. I have a cable modem attached to another computer with a Netgear router hooked up for my computer but I never had it on to run internet on my computer (I thought that was strange but it was working fine).

Please help!

Try manually typing a new address the address bar. It is saying that the website redriecxt.hp.com is not working. try google.com and set your homepage to google.com. Google will most likely always be up.

Type into the address bar http://209.151.74.86 and see if Suggestafix comes up. If so, this will verify that the above DNS service is down. You can switch to another service manually.

In Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and hit Properties. Change the form to appear like below.....

OK out of the network connections. If this doesn't work, go back into this form and tic the button back to 'Obtain DNS automatically' to return to your previous setup. The above DNS service has been very reliable for years.
