Hi, I recently bought The Orange Box for PC. I tried installing it, but it said I needed to install Steam and went and did that for me. But then when it tries to install, it tries to run Steam. This is a problem for me because Steam "can't load library Steam.dll". I found this file on the Internet, and downloaded it. Then it says it is "unable to load library SteamUI.dll". I also found this file on the Internet and downloaded it, but it still pops up with the same message.

What do I do?

I am running Windows XP SP2, if it helps.

hi crtbrnk
maybe you need to register SteamUI.dll.

here's how:
To register the DLL in Windows, you need to run a command. Click start -> Run. Enter regsvr32 “path\dllname.dll”.
Where path = the path where the dll is located and dllname is the dllname.

For Example if a dll say example.dll is located in c:\projects directory then run regsvr32 “c:\projects\example.dll”. This will register the dll. By register i mean a entry will be made in the operating system registry.

if that fails i'd uninstall/reinstall the whole thing.

maybe it's your firewall, disable it and see if it'll connect.
