Hi everybody, hello.gif

I am installing the software I had on my other computers. I am currently looking for a Monopoly CD that I know is in this house someplace! I just haven't found it yet. confused.gif However, I have numerous CDs and CD-Rs and I know there's data on them (or at least several of them) because I made a note in several of the jewelcases. I came across a game which is a particular favorite of mine. It is called. MahJongg Empire. I have installed my CD of Deal or No Deal (this was compatible up to XP) and I also installed Scrabble (also compatible with XP) and I have installed Bejeweled (the original--not Bejeweled Deluxe). Bejeweled is compatible with XP also. I thought that MahJongg Empire was compatible with XP and that it would run on Vista. I was wrong. Every time I tried to install the game, the installer would come up and the game would begin to install and then it would hang. banghead.gif Three times before I tried the Program Compatibility Wizard (I had to do an Internet Search to find the Program Compatibilty Wizard in Vista, but I found it). I ran the Program Compatibility Wizard four times using different settings and each time the game would not install. I finally threw in the towel for awhile and looked at the box to see the system requirements (should have done that the first thing!) This game is compatibile with Windows 95 and 98! eek5.gif Does anybody know of a way that I can install this game or should I find it a new home?
Dino
I’m not an expert on games but I think that you have a compatibility issue; you can try and find a newer version that is compatible with Vista, or you can install XP on your current machine, or another one, and play that game.

Thanks Dino,
I think that I'll find a newer version of this gamme that is compatible with Vista and while I'm at it, I'll look for a newer version of Monopoly that is compatible with Vista also because if I recall correctly, I bought Monopoly around the time that I bought this game. I may be mistaken--I ran it on the Gateway computer running XP Pro but the graphics looked funny in the center of the board. They were distorted. The outside of the board was not however, so I'll just look for two games. Thanks.

first your old game/s was not designed to VISTA (no vista that time)
secondly you may try compatibility facility of vista to run your games but not a 100% sure about that.

Monopoly for Vista (free).

Mahjongg Empire is listed only for Windows 95/98/Me/XP/2000, and there doesn't appear to be any upgraded version of it for Vista.

You'll find several versions of Vista compatible MahJongg, some free, HERE.
