I want to increase my wireless signal reception but I don’t have access to the transmitting router to make any modifications to it. Is there a good USB wireless device I can buy that would boost the signal or just receive it better?

Would something like this be a good buy?

Thanks for your help

Why don't you have access to the transmitting router? Is it in a neighbors house?

Yeah he doesn't use his internet much so he gave me his wep key that I can use it as a backup if mine ever goes down or is too slow (which happens more than it should no thanks to plusnet!). A lot of the time I can get his signal but sometimes I can't or it's very very weak if I do.

There may be better WiFi cards you can buy, but i doubt you'd get a good return on your investment.

we have no way to verify that the access to the neighbors network is legit. saf policy is to not comment on passwords, bypassing network security, connecting to networks others networks.
