May we have a moment for a silent smirk. After 6 years, it won't boot from floppies,CD, or from Knoppix. But boy, it was a great box. Thanks for all help from SAF that kept it going.

I have a new build in works for a XP box, about 700 bucks worth of boxes around, so I guess I'll be needing help soon.

Last time or 2 it booted I smelled something hot. Last boot couldn't find NTlDR. So I got all my fix-it disk, And today was going to give it a shot. No go. RIP. I have a room full of junk now.

I might save a few drives, but really, you can't give the junk away. And the trash truck runs each week.

You probably lost the main drive, or the drive controller. When you pull them, check them out with a USB adapter cable.

Must be something in the air lately. My neighbor lost his drive and EIDE controller channel about three weeks ago, and I lost my laptop drive at the same time. I replaced the laptop (40 gig.) with a Solid-State Drive (64 gig.) The little guy boots up in 12 seconds now!

Thanks Jim. I've not opened it up yet.
