I'm trying to set up a NEC Powermate with Windows 2000 Pro, for a friend, but it won't see a mouse. It won't see a USB mouse nor a PS2 mouse. There's an 'enable legacy USB mouse' setting in the BIOS, but it doesn't make any difference if that's enabled or not.
It's a slipstreamed SP4 OS disk.
Any ideas ? Or is it a knackered NEC mobo ? I'm sure it used to work OK before I threw it off the roof.

j/k.

At this point, you might try a BIOS update if you can find it. Should be one HERE, but it's likely knackered. It's just odd that it won't recognize either type, since they are really two different channels of data on the motherboard.

Thanks jim, I'll try that before I force a confession out of it with the pliers.

Hi Moono,

You mentioned that you have a slipstreamed SP4 OS installed. There is a tendency that the required mouse drivers are not installed. Have you try to do a windows update for you pc?
