How do I get rid of this piece of s__t spyware that somehow found its way onto my PC? Norton Antivirus has reported this as having been removed on several occasions only to be found again when the system is being scanned. Some folks have suggested that I can just simply uninstall it through the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS utility in my control panel. I've looked into that and became even more fustrated when I saw that it was not even listed on my machine. On Symantec's website, they suggested to remove its registry values. I followed the procedure to do this and I could not find the specific values that I was instructed to remove. I would prefer to avoid downloading any utility to help with this situation being that this is probably how it all started in the first place and also out of fear that I just might make the situation worse.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can eliminate this evil from my machine once and for all.

FYI: My PC is running on Windows XP (service pack 3)

Hello Ranchhand,

Thanks for the hearty welcome. Its good to be here at SAF. The site you recommended was very helpful. I did not download the utility they recommended but I did get some good ideas on how I can do it manually and now it looks like I'm free of that little SOB. thumb up.gif

My pleasure, sir. Comet Curser (note the misspellling cowboy.gif ) has been around for a long time and is as much a pain as ever.
