Dear Friends

No doubt a simple question when you know the answer - but I dont !

Using MS Outlook for email. I had to reload the other day - and seem to have lost the feature where you start to type in the email address of the recipient in the "To:" Box and it automatically appears (with other similar ones) for you to click and select from a drop down list. Is this "autocomplete" ?

I presume it's an option linked to the address book but can't find it.

A guiding word would be really helpful.

Thanks folks

Tools->Options->Preferences->Email Options->Advanced Email Options

And in the for what its worth catagory:

When you manually type an address into Outlook's IN box, Outlook remembers the address via "auto complete." It store the info here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.NK2
(this file can be copied and used on a new pc)

And a nice free tool to open the NK2 file:

The app can be downloaded from here:

So you manually type an address and send the mail....Next time you try to send to the same person, autocomplete doesn't work?

There are two option about MS Word being the editor - make sure those are disabled since they are known to cause all sorts of problems.

Thanks Steve

Where's the MS Word editor option ?
