Hey. I'm having the same problem.
when i goto my web browser (firefox, ie) and do a search, i notice on the bottom, when it displays the page it is accessing, it shows analitic-checks.google.com, even if i am on yahoo

Hey... some more info. I can access most sites by entering the address directly... however, some sites (mostly anti-virus product sites) will not load. Also, those products cannot access their servers for updates (for example, I had to manually update AVG by downloading the update with another computer, then copying it over).

Hi comidacomer...both logs look clean. However, it seems you disabled some startup programs using Msconfig, so I'm not getting the full picture.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to the desktop.

* Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
* When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
* When installation has finished, make sure you leave both these checked:
o Update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
o Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
* Then click Finish.
* MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
* On the Scanner tab:
o Make sure the "Perform Full Scan" option is selected.
o Then click on the Scan button.
* The next screen will ask you to select the drives to scan. Leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
* The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
* When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
* Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
* Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
* The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

NB - If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process and, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Is there anything else I should take care of regarding this problem? Also, those items I have blocked at startup in msconfig... they are ctfmon, GoogleDesktop, msmsgs, QTTask, jusched, GoogleToolbarNotifier, and realsched. Those were programs that I thought could possibly be trojans masquerading as legitimate programs. Can I safely reactivate these? That is, would Malwarebytes' have caught them even while they were deactivated?

There is another program I would like to use to check for any files that MBAM may have missed, but it's unavailable at the moment. You should run an online scan at BitDefender. If anything is found, save the scan report and post it here.



I would restore the Ctfmon and GoogleDesktop ones. The others are unnecessary, but are not malicious.

I had this same problem on a PC I was working on and this fix worked. I am supprised that superantispyware did not fix this nor did AVG v8 or avast. I can not stand all this crap that people are coming up with to screw up our computers. I think all these people should be hung from something personal.

Thanks for the fix. It took an hour of searching, but it was worth it. I was about to do a complete reload.
