that's interesting. just as you said, if you're at the inbox page (and there's nothing in it) and you click Select All, then click All Mail then click "Delete", everything in All Mail gets deleted.
but if you're on the All Mail page and click Select All and click Delete, only those mails showing on the page are deleted, but not all the others in All Mail.
