I joined the Gmail Help Discussion Group, but they don't allow you to post questions. Weird.
Is there anywhere on the net that people exchange info about gmail & it's usages?
All I want is to find how to delete all archived mails...why they don't include this as an option under "All Mail" is a mystery to me

What happens when you use the SELECT "ALL" option and click the delete button?

Only those 100 emails showing on the 'All Mail' page are deleted. There are thousands of archived emails and it would take hours to delete them all page by page.

I just did a Select ALL on page one...I then saw a link that says Select ALL XXX conversations in All Mail....bingo.

that's interesting. just as you said, if you're at the inbox page (and there's nothing in it) and you click Select All, then click All Mail then click "Delete", everything in All Mail gets deleted.

but if you're on the All Mail page and click Select All and click Delete, only those mails showing on the page are deleted, but not all the others in All Mail.
