I'm confused by this strange problem and need some good advice. Lately, my pc goes into the setup screen asking for F4 key to open set-up screen upon reboots. Also, a lot of times, I don't get that screen but the pc just crawls, so slow that I hit reset button to boot all over again. I have a p4, 3000 with 80 gig hd with xp, another 250 hd, a geforce 7800-256, 4096 of ram and its all powered by a 600 watt psu thats not 6 months old. It seems like I have to hit F4 about 5-6 times and get lucky to see it go into win xp load screen. I fiddled with boot drive priorities and even left it at F9 (which is defaults) Also turned off plug and play. but when I save and restart it always fails to boot to win xp screen. Now, I've noticed, that if I turn it completely off, wait an hour or so, and restart it it seems to boot ok and at proper speed. (i'm thinking something is overheating?) I touched around on the boot-up hd and it felt hotter than the other hd. Is this a sign that the boot-up hd is failing? could it be my psu? any advice would be greatly appreciated. provided I can get back to this site again to read the responses. thanks in advance.

Hmm. My computer specs are disgusting. My computer technology is obsolete, and yet I can still manage to keep it working with great performance and speed. To me it looks like you need some really good virus scanners, spy-ware cleaners. registry cleaners. and hijack this tongue.gif.

A few good programs should really clean your computer thoroughly.

I suggest kaspersky. It is the best, hands down.

Also, check your virtual memory.
