Okay, so the other day, my computer had detected that it had Spyware in it. I used Norton to delete the Spyware but ever since that day, my computer has been acting weird. For example, after I use my computer, I leave it on and maybe like 10-15 minutes later, when I come back, I have a blue screen error message saying this.

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

BAD_POOL_HEADEAR (sometimes this would be something else like sometimes it says UNEXPECTED_KENNEL_MODE_TRAP)

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps.

Check to make sure that any new hardware or software has been properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows update you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

Okay so when I see this message, my computer keeps on restarting and the same message comes sometimes with like different numbers and such. It keeps on restarting and the same error message. So I have to turn off the entire computer by holding the power button and then I have to restart it again. This only happens when I leave it there and I'm not using it. I can use it as long as I want but when I leave it there without using it, this error message comes.

This has been going on ever since my computer detected spyware (I deleted it with Norton). And yes, the last thing that I downloaded was iTunes from www.itunes.com, after I downloaded that, my computer detected spyware. However, I deleted iTunes and it still does it.

Please help and tell me what this is!!! PLEASE!!!

Ok, first calm down. Now, I just fixed two computers today which both had blue screens and error codes just like yours. They where a little bit different errors; However, they are fixable most of the time.

That right their is your error code. Type that into google like so:

" 0x00000050 Error message"

and you should get a legitimate website such as gateway/support or dell, which ever P.C your using.

First, boot into Safe Mode; does it do this then?
Second, try a system restore to a couple of points before this started (I assume when you d/loaded itunes).
Third, Download Hijack This, rename the file to anything you like (do not use Hijack This, some baddies now detect that and "hide"), go HEREand post the log with a brief explanation like you used here. AN expert will be along to help you, be a bit patient we are experiencing a huge iflux of malware posts.
If all the above does not help, perform a repair reinstallation of XP (not a fresh install).
