Funny thing is, I can receive mail via ISP and outlook, but not send.

I cannot access any web page, or send mail. "page cannot be displayed". I have contacted my ISP who says everything is fine. I have spent hours on the phone with Netgear, who determined it is not their problem either (I suspect the tinkering via Netgear caused more harm than good).

I cannot acces via hard wire, either direct into router or modem, or wireless. Other computers on my network have no issues.

I have reinstalled internet explorer, disabled all fire wall settings, and even created a new network.
Virus scans turn up nothing.

What can I do? Thanks, Mattie confused.gif

try entering this as dns server. it's opendns.com

DNS 1: 208.67.222.222
DNS 2: 208.67.220.220

make sure dhcp is enabled in services when connected directly to the modem.

Thank you for your quick response. However, I'm not being too successful here. Would you mind giviing me specific instructions on where to find the area to change the DNS (windows XP) ? Remember, I cannot connect to internet at all to do through netgear set up page.

Thanks, Mattie
