Hey all, this old man got a new digital camera, a samsung S860 (cheeepy), and was wondering
if I could use the usb memory stick to store my pics on? If so, would I also have to move
the software program that came with it to the usb stick? I know that these pics will eat up
memory on my hd, so was just wondering....this digital is all new stuff to me!!!
thanks in advance

Hi,
There are two threads that I can think of that can help you. They don't mention a memory stick, but they have lots of info about digital cameras and some info about usb. The titles of the threads are:
"Considering Digital Camera for Christmas" (I know that you alread have yours, but this has lots of helpful info in the thread.
The title of the second thread is "Have Digital Camera, Pictures, and USB cable. Where do I go from here?"
Both threads were posted in the year 2005 by me. Type in the words "digital camera" without the quoues and you'll find these threads and lots of other threads that may answer your question.

y'all should be able to connect it directly to your computer and transfer the pix anywhere y'all want with no third party software. windows xp should treat the camera memory stick as a usb drive. copy/paste to and from any storage device in windows.

I hope that all of us have helped you. My post was the last thing I typed last night, and re-reading it this morning I noticed I forgot a few things (like the year, for instance). All that is corrected now.
