hi, just want to know, is it safe if i install the A4Tech PK635 driver to a A4TECH PK635M webcam. Is it the same? I visited the a4tech website but unfortunately, i cannot accessed the link that should give me the right driver. I searched for the same driver to other sites, and luckily i have seen one forum site whos member is experiencing the same problem. I posted a question but its been days now and no ones answering my queries. Is there someone out there who had experienced the same problem (like mine) with their a4tech pk635m webcam? sigh...

i'd say to wait until the 635m driver can be researched. the a4tech site is unavailable to me at the moment.

for now try this
disconnect the camera. boot into safe mode. press the F8 key repetedly as the computer boots. that'll bring up a boot menu. choose Safe Mode. in safemode windows open device manager, find any instance of the camera and uninstall. reboot in normal mode and install the camera aaccording to the instructions.

can't say this is updated from your current drivers but it's worth a shot. just disconnect the cam, remove from device manager in safe mode, reboot normal, install the drivers from setup.exe in the .zip file, connect the cam. lots of usb devices are installed this way but your case may be different. if that doesn't work then reverse the order for install, connect the cam, cancel when windows says found new hardware then use setup.exe from the zip file.

surfer, i had installed the Look316 thingy but, i guess now i know what the real problem is. The system can not detect my usb webcam. Iam definitely sure that my webcam is working since my friend had tried it to other pc's and it had worked properly. How can i make my system detect my webcam? )=

last thing i know to try.
boot in safe mode. open device manager, click the view tab, click show hidden devices. look for web cam and uninstall any y'all find. if there's any listed reboot and try install again. i'm beginning to think there's something wrong with this web cam.

did you try this in normal mode?
open device manager, click the view tab, click show hidden devices. look for web cam and uninstall any y'all find. make sure the cam is disconnected.
also check if the camera and your motherboard usb are the same version i.e. 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0
