On a daily basis I create a restore point using the Windows XP System Restore Program. On a number of occasions I have built up a large number of restore points, on other occasions only a few. Then for no apparent reason all of these restore points disappear.
I have tried to match the loss of the restore points with actions I have been taken on the computer, but I can find no correlation. I understand that I cannot keep adding restore points indefinitely, and that eventually the older ones will disappear, but I cannot understand the apparent randomness of loosing all the restore points.
Can you help?

Adjusting the amount of disk space used by the retore from the Max setting to something smaller will wipe out all restore points. Pretty sure you get a warning message...

Hopefully you very seldom have to do any restores....Also might consider a disk imaging software that is Much More powerfull.
