hi everyone im updating vista but when it gets to 7 out of 11 it just stays there forever.any sugestions ,thank you. :banghead:or should i just let it run.its only 15mb and it should have install quite fast.
Dino
Reboot your system and then run the updates one more time; sometimes they just freeze for no good reason.

hi Dino yea i did that but its still 7 out of 11 or at 63 percent.theres 3 important updates but they have failed and then when you shut down it tells you not to turn off your computer but i did anyways.not sure what else to do but thank you for your time.
Dino
Go to Microsoft Updates website, let it scan your machine for the needed updates, and see if that helps with your problem.

hey Dino i went there but no help.this morning when i got back on and try to update again it said update errors code 80240016 failed 5 updates.ps its also saying this windows update is currently installing other update please try again later.i dont see anything in the taskbar showing anything being updated but my computer is running hotter than nomal.
Dino
Turn it off properly (Start, Turn off), and don’t force a shut down as sometimes Windows Updates get installed while your machine is shutting down. Let it cool down for a few minutes, and then restart it again.

Hi davidl1l hello.gif

This is just a thought, can you pick and choose which updates you can install in Vista, like you can in Win XP?? If you can, maybe just pick one at a time for now, and see if it works.

I had to do that one time in Win XP when there were a lot of updates to install.
