Last year I purchased a Western Digital external hard drive for storage and backup. I used my Genie-Soft to backup to the external HD. Sometime afterwards I realized that My Documents folder's control had defaulted to the external drive. When I add to and change folders, the changes show up on the external HD, but the internal HD's My Documents folder remains unchanged. Any ideas how to get the control back to the internal HD?

I bought a year's subscription to Carbonite online backup simply to have a second backup in case my external HD would ever fail. Then I found out Carbonite only backs up internal drives. So I would like to know how to transfer back the My Documents control to the internal drive.

Am I confusing? Probably. I hope someone will be willing to try and help me anyway. Thanks,
Gary Polson

maybe this'll work

Restore the My Documents Folder to Its Default Location

1. Click Start, and then point to My Documents.
2. Right-click My Documents, and then click Properties.
3. Click Restore Default, and then click OK.
4. In the Move Documents box, click Yes to move your documents to the new location, or click No to leave your documents in the original location.
