The 09 lines with network diagnostic and messenger are new to my system./ I do a scan only with hijack this once a week and this log is different than the last check. I do not use messenger and have it disabled...
Anyone know why these would show up?
I looked them up online and they are a microsoft product>>> but I didn't install them.

Hi Jef, your HT log is incomplete; the header is missing that gives us information that is helpful; check that you are running the latest version, then after download rename the file to Jef123 (or whatever you want), then use "Scan and save a logfile" or words to that effect. Copy & paste into this thread and someone will be along to help you.

Those 019's you specified can be removed. At one time someone evidently ran a Microsoft diagnostic on your system for some reason, and that is a remnant of it. No longer needed.

Someone at some time tried to load Windows Messenger (which as you said you don't use) and then took it off. You can delete these safely.

I am more concerned about your 017's; do you recognize anything and where they came from? I don't like unresolved TCP/IP entrys. At this point do not remove them until one of our experts posts in.

I want to compliment you on a lean, mean loading log. Nice, clean log without a lot of useless garbage loading.

The 017 lines I have no Idea what they are... Also should mention My internet explorer desktop icon is missing . I made mozilla firefox (latest edition) the default browser. and I'm not sure if that caused it to be removed or if I have some virus of something??? I have since restored internet explorer to be default browser but still no Icon on the desktop. also just figured out the program regprot is missing... what has happened here I am obviously clueless...

I ran avg8 and found nothing.
Also: spybot search and destroy- found --- virtumondo.prx and under start up it found that regprot is there under start up as new but its certainly not and I cant find any files from it anymore on my computer.. also--
dimsntfy.dll is new ???

I hope the kids haven't become self proclaimed computer experts all of the sudden...
