Knoppix link is
HERE. I suggest the University of Wisconsin link at the bottom, choose http unless you are set up for ftp. You will be downloading an ISO, then burn that ISO and create a Knoppix/linux disk. That disk will load the Knoppix operating system into your memory, and you can access your corrupted drive directly and drag the files off of in onto your good drive. If you need more help, post back and I will post a tutorial I created after I get home from work tonight.
Is it ok to use? I am using Windows XP SP2. The corrupted hardisk is my backup, it is a USB external hardisk. The corrupted one is not my working hardisk in the laptop. I am using it to store files, music, etc.
