I would like to purchase and install a wireless router with my currently configured Ambit U10C018 cable modem to allow me to use multiple computers on my internet connection. I am unsure of compatibility issues that may affect this be it with the router I choose or my ISP. Can anyone offer insight to any problems they forsee? I would like my desktop computer running WinXP home to be wired and my laptop running windows vista running on the wireless connection. The laptop does have a wireless card installed stock I believe wireless-G. I found a Linksys wireless-G router for around 60.00 us dollars. As opposed to around 300.00 and 6.75/month my service provider wants to charge me for this connection.

Any help? Thank you very much!

i use a linksys WRT54GS with 2 winxp computers. 1 wireless 1 wired. works fine. i use the GS model cause it has wpa2 security and extended range. if your isp allows it's a good way to go.
