Hey i have just recently bought the 8800 GT by xfx. What happens when i put the card in and turn on my computer is my computer just turns on, but nothing. It dosnt boot, it just turns on. I thought it was a Power supply issue, so form my 380 watt power supply i went 550 (500 is the xfx requirement for the card). 550 didnt work, so i just recently about 2 hours ago bought a 650 watt, and im running it with one card not two, still, nothing. I am gonna call tech support but if anyone can help me before i do that would be great. Oh yeah, i have a intel pentium 4 processor with one cd drive and one dvd drive and one hard drive and one card (the 8800 gt).

One more thought before you RMA it. Did you uninstall your old card in Add/Remove Programs prior to installing the 8800?

Also, this is what happened. I called xfx, and they told me that your motherboard is probably not compatible with the new nvidia pci-e 2.0, mines 1.0 i think, which is the cause of this. So the guy there told me to call up the motherboard manufacturer and ask them if they have a bios update or anything like that. So i did and he told me about all this. I dont get a POST when the 8800 gt is in, but when it isnt i do. Power On Self Test = POST

Hi mrconfus.... remember that if you have a flash go bad, officially you have damaged the card and your retailer will not take it back. RMA it; you shouldn't have to start messing around with something that is supposed to work properly.

Thanks ranch, but i did RMA it awhile ago, which i regret doing and instead got a 8600 gts. Of course its not better then the 8800 gt or does not even compare to the 8800 gt, but its a hell of a lot better then the 8400 gs =/

Hi mrconfus3d
You should send the wrong one back, and get the right one, it was their mistake.
