Hi one and all

Well the question can't be that simple. I have a spare computer containing two hard drives of 500g each they are configered on raid 0. Can these be partitioned into four sections of 250g each?
I think I know the answer but I would like confirmation if anyone has any suggestions.

Hi Surfer,

Well so much for the "I think I know the answer" bit.

I thought you would say No!! Thinking about your answer it makes a certain sense (which I didn't see).
Raid 0 just makes the two HD's act like one, not like certain other raid config's (raid 5 I think) that start repeating information.

If I use something like 'partition magic' will this program just 'see' one disk and one can carry on as normal or are there certain precautions one must take?
You say "do not turn off raid", are there any specific things I must NOT do? I did not install the raid 0, the computer was bought 'as is'

Thanks
Lionel

the answer to the question is yes... but with a few exceptions... 1. you can't put 2 windows systems on the same drive without partitioning the drive first... and 2. you never compress a primary master drive... aka the start up drive, if you do... your computer may not boot up at all... so just remember that and you'll be o.k. now... as far as installing an xbox hard drive on a pc... can't do it... not that i know of... i am trying to do just that... but no luck as of yet
