Hi guys,

I recently returned my mesh pc to factory settings and re installed windows XP.

however at present my video card (nvidia geforce 5900xt) drivers are not working correctly as when i scroll on web pages the movement is not smooth and the display in general is slightly wrong.

I have the original drivers for my video card but upon installation they do not appear on my currently installed programs list in add/remove programs.

also there is no reference to VGA or video cards on my device manager.

can anyone shed any light on this problem, i have had video card driver issues in the past but have managed to uninstall and update etc with success.

thanks in advance for any replies!

sounds like the video adapter is running with windows standard vga drivers. the driver package for your adapter from the nvidia web site will uninstall any unnecessary drivers and install drivers for yours. if it's in device manager it should be listed as Display Adapters

also it may be necessary to install directX 9c from microsoft

As an extra precaution, you might want to make sure that the integrated video on the mainboard (if you have onboard video, that is) is disabled. Usually when a video card is detected it will do it automatically, but if you still have problems after Surfer's suggestions, you might check it out.
