I closed up Friday through Monday and headed off to the water. On one side of the lake we had a bbq and party to go to. The rest of the time it was running around the lake, swimming, fishing and just hanging out, visiting with other boats. Saturday the lake was full of sailboats because 2 regattas were taking place at the same time. There were quite a few boats and I was playing "hogs of the road" with the Hells Angels on water (otherwise known as jet ski fleas). Finished the weekend with a nice night cruise, bbq and bonfire on the shoreline. Was all over the lake for 3 days and only used about 35 gallons of liquid gold. Not too bad. Boat ran purrrrfectly. All that fresh air and sunshine let me sleep like a sedated baby.

Nothing close to as much fun as yours. Just went to a local fireworks is all.

I was bedridden with a horrendous headcold from heck and had to cancel plans for a bbq with my sister and my niece.

i listened while night ranger played at wild west fest. night ranger do rock that is til they tried humor and audience participation then acoustic craP. half of the show rocked yer butts off. half the show had us thinkin our butts was suckin swamp water. but then you'd expect a bunch of late forty's early 50's rockers to mellow. it was worth the price of admission, 10 bux, out here in desolate, hot, flat as a pancake kansas. one consolation was the food booth sellin' gator on a stick, yum yum! but then for all i know it might have been rattle snake

Had rattlesnake before (which was quite good made into a paté spread on crackers), but I've not done gator yet. Þ )

Stayed home and did the same ol' same ol' for the 4th - just another day here.

I think I had rattlesnake before...can't remember if it tasted like chicken or not. I've had gator steak--it was pretty good. Has a different texture. You'll have to try it. My buddy blasted on and took the tail right in front of me. Felt kinda weird to see it then eat it.

rattlesnake is way way better than frog legs. IMHO

"Rattler, the other meat". It just doesn't sound quite right. And do you know how many frogs I'd have to dismember to satisfy my appetite? They say there's a shortage of frogs in the world now....imagine the effect on the population after I'm done.

Ehhhh.....I think I'll stick to a nice, juicy steak...some clams....potatoes....salad....
