I recently updated my laptop a bit by getting it some more RAM and getting a better wireless system to run on. I wanted to run a few games on my system, but with past experience under my belt, I decided to message the game support before I bought the game to check to see if my system was compatible. Unfortunately my graphics card is not supported.

My questions:

I want to know what my graphics card is compatible with in terms of geforce/nvidia since those seem to be the gaming industry standards.

I also want to know if there are any places that can switch out my graphics card/add a better graphics card and disable the current one if necessary, since I am running on a card that is embedded into the motherboard.

You fail to state, but since your using DirectX10 = Vista, is this correct?

From what you state, you're presently using your on-board video card, is this correct?

IF that is the case, AFTER installing a PCI (or PCIE) video card and ensuring it works, you disable the on-board video via BIOS Setup.

I too prefer GeForce cards. Just remember that you MAY have to go to nVidia Driver Downloads and get the the Vista driver for whatever card you bought.

You may want to download & SAVE anyway, since the drivers on that came with the card are likely out-of-date. I suggest you do this BEFORE installing your new GeForce. Then, when the New Hardware Wizard shows up, use [Cancel] then run the saved file.

i doubt compatibility is a problem. there's very likely no way to upgrade video for that laptop.
