Am I being a worrier and is the Bios Safe Please ?? confused.gif

The BIOS has nothing to do with formatting a hard drive; just make sure that you have a Windows XP CD and all the necessary drivers for your system.

What Dino means is to be sure that you have the mainboard drivers for your mainboard, ordinarily called chipset drivers. These are very important. XP has many common mainboard drivers already loaded on the installation disk, but that is no guarantee that yours are there. In addition, make sure that if you have any add-on cards installed you have the drivers for those.

Many thanks to you both ,Never had to format before so wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing .God job I did as I never gave the Chipst/Mainboard drivers a thought .So it is off to find the necessary CD`s .
Again many thanks to you both
