Hi. About 2 days ago my sound suddenly stopped working. Apparently I have “no audio device” And I get an error from winamp when I try to play music. I’m bit confused by this and have been trying to figure this out but nothing seems to working. I thought I would try my luck and ask here. thanks.gif

I can hear my system sounds but when it comes to music I'm getting nothing. When I use my winamp I get this error.

First let me say welcome to SAF!! smile.gif

I just wanted you to know that I've notified the SAF mods "backstage" to help you out soon. So, just hang tight. Help should be arriving shortly, as soon as one of the mods spots my message to them. wink.gif

You will not be ignored or forgotten here at SAF!! thumb up.gif

But while I'm here, have you tried updating your sound card drivers yet? If you do not know how to do so, then someone here can offer you assistance, after gathering the info from you as to what sound card you have (or what onboard sound chip you may have).

When you first experienced this problem while using Winamp, and you indicated this...

How do I go about reinstalling or updating the soundcard drivers? And how do I know what I have? I can't seem to find the information.

...then, when JohnnyMac replied to you, referencing this post there, did you go to this page and read the procedure there?

In any case, someone should be by shortly to help you further.

I have tried it. But it hasn't helped me so far. I'm not sure what's going on lol This is what my device manager looks like if that'll help any.

This issue is being handled to two different ends. Have you tried DJ Egg's suggestions from at your thread at Winamp Forums?

As of now it seems that DJ Egg has a handle on it. So until it is indicated otherwise, continue the discussion at Winamp Forums.
