I have an Explorer trackball, USB mouse. and about a week ago for no appearent reason it'll stop working. I have to physicaly unplug it and lug it back in then it'll work again? any ideas?

Drivers are up to date, and I'm running Vista Ultimate.

The mouse could be going bad, try another one if you have it or plug it into another USB port to see if this issue persists.

maybe the rollers inside need cleaned.

same thing happens if plugged into another USB port.

is it possible it's the usb cable itself? I could crack this thing open and replace the usb cable

Try another mouse and see if it works.

yes it dose. however now its been aprox 2 days with no trouble. think it's the usb cord on the mouse. the rollers are fine the ball rolls as smooth as the day it was new. guess ill try looking into replacing the usb cord on it shouldnt be that difficult

Or just get another mouse; they’re cheap nowadays.

not this mouse it has been discontinued and not available in stores originaly paid about 40 bucks for it and now on ebay they go for 160 - 200+

this is the best mouse I've ever used! I refuse to set it free!!!
