Secondly a friend of mine is asking me this question :S and i really have no clue what he's on abt.... if it makes any sense to you please reply.... Thanks

Change the BIOS settings on DELL machines within Windows. I know it is doable using OMCI (Open Manage Client Instrumentation). To give you guys a head start, go to this link http://www.myitforum.com/articles/11/view.asp?id=5494. We can Flash BIOS to change its setting in windows mode – but we need to build the perfect scrip and test it on a dozen DELL machines of different models.

If there is a way out there, we should learn it as it would help us in Managing our field machines. 90% of the machines which go offline can come up with a little bit of tweaking in the BIOS. Topics to focus on:

1. Auto Power On
2. Wake-UP on LAN
3. Power on Schedule

This is the entire point of your post, that is, you need a one size fits all kind of script. In this case you need to know exactly what Dell models do you have, their different BIOS features that they offer, what do you need the BIOS in every model to do, and whether if you can implement these requirements to all the different Dell models that you have or not. Once you decide all these variables, then you can create different scripts and experiment with them on all the different models that you have until you find the proper one.
