We have a desktop pc connected to a speedtouch router which in turn sends wireless signal to another desktop downstairs. my son has now bought a laptop and would like to add to work wireless off the same router... either how do i add him or, how can i temporarily disable my secure connection to unsecure to enable him to go online? i dont mind having an unsecure connection, we live remote and i doubt anyone would get near enough to use my connection.

Hi 1973mackem, welcome to SAF

I'm not really skilled in wireless connections, but, I'd bet that your son's laptop must be on the same workgroup and share the ID's and passwords on this wireless lan. Otherwise, anyone may access it.

Hi Chris,

all we tried to do was find my wireless connection and thought it would ask for a password, it kinda did but would not give access. dunno anything about workgroups, ID's etc could i not just make my connection unsecure, i use unsecure connections when away from home.
