Hi,
New to Vista Home Basic on a new laptop Fujistu Siemens ... a couple of times when clicking on sites (eg BBC) I get a blue screen with reason in white, but the screen vanishes & PC re-boots too fast for me to read reason.
How do I slow down the re-booting enough to read the screen please?
On second/subsequent visits to an affected site, there is no repeat of the problem.
Running ZoneAlarm (paid) version. Removed trial version of Norton with a Norton removal prog before use and before the install of ZoneAlarm (if that makes a diffrence?)

Many thanks.

To stop bluescreens restarting computer
  1. Click Start
  2. Right click Computer and choose properties
  3. On the right hand menu, click "Advanced System Settings"
  4. Click the Advanced tab
  5. Under Startup and Recovery, click settings
  6. Under System Failure, click to uncheck "Automatically restart"
  7. Click OK twice
This will stop the automatic restart and leave the blue screen on screen until you hit your computer's reset button.

The problem
A few things can cause this kind of system failure but I've always found that the first thing to check is the memory.
  1. Click Start
  2. Control Panel
  3. (in classic view) Administrative tools
  4. Memory Diagnostics Tool
  5. Restart now and check for problems

Many thanks, I'll see how 'The Problem' looks and I'll change that setting.
