I have a problem with my notbook....well the problem is that i cant connect to the internet using my cable modem and I could only connect using a wireless connection, but the wireless connection is way to slow so i would rather connect using my ethernet connection. My cable modem is working fine, I have a great connection when i connect to my other computer. But, for some reason its not working for my NoteBook.
i tried to restore windows but that also didnt work. The problem is that i dont have a boot disc/cd for my notebook and there is no way for me to get it to the manufacterer settings from the day it was bought. If anyone has any ideas on how to make a boot cd being in the possition im in, please help me out. I tried everything there is for the screen to pop up to enter my PRODUCT KEY, but no luck. Thank You

Have you ever investigated why that is so? Most modern wireless connections are as fast as cabled connections now, especially with the advent of the 802.11G platform. My wireless LAN setup in my home is every bit as fast as a direct cable link. You may have some settings mis-configured.

Go to your manufacturer's website and see if there is a manual that you can download. I can guarantee that there is something misconfigured in your setup. you should be able to just plug in the cable and go. Try disabling the wireless network connection in Network Neighborhood, and then plug in the cable and reboot.
