Also, you may check this:
Is your GPU (Graphic card) properly installed ? (I mean, patched, cooled and with all the proper drivers installed), some Graphic cards may show overheating when you use common sensors or diag programs, but the high temp may not be correct... also, some other problems may cause this behavior...
If it was installed near the processor, it's possible that the CPU heat interferes with it. If you have a tower case, try to move your graphic card to another location if possible.
Check the whole system for dust and for an optimized airflow. GPU's temp may rise to abnormal temperatures if near to a powerful CPU (AMD processors may be critical).
Always put the hottest cards on top.

An easy way to check for overheating is to leave the side case cover off while playing your game. If the shutdowns stop, you know you are overheating. Also check that the small fan mounted on the card is working. Sometimes they wear out and stop and you don't know it. You can also add another case fan to move more air out.
