Hi JFM,
I had this issue once, on a friend's computer. As far as I can remember, it was caused because of a corrupted Office file, nothing to do with any other program. The correct procedure to solve this is to insert the Office CD and perform a reinstall selecting the "repair" option from the Control Panel/add-remove programs.
Crossed clusters on a faulty hard disk may also cause this, so, I'd suggest you to try <Start/Run> and type in chkdsk /r (Enter). You'll be probably prompted to schedule chkdsk to the next reboot. Please do so.
Restart your system and let the chkdsk run.
Let us know how it works.
Chris
Thanks for the assisstance Chris, I tried the chkdsk /r and all was good...
I dont have a cd for office or my windows xp home edition so unless there is a repair file available on the internet I am out of luck... Any other suggestions?
