I am looking for suggestions as to a good free email program to use. I have used Outlook for years and years (and LOVE it) but it became corrupt several months ago and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I resorted to Outlook Express (although MUCH against my will). It worked OK until last month when I updated my Trend Micro PCC to the 2008 Internet Security Suite version. Now, "if" OE opens at all, (which most times it's doesn't) then every mail I create and send, either gets sent twice, or not at all. I've had it with fighting it. I'm NOT giving up my TM-PCC just to use OE!
I despise Yahoo and refuse to even say the word "AOL". I wasted money on the premium version of Incredimail - (WHAT A JOKE!) - it's corrupt too, although not at the hands of TM-PCC (as far as I can figure anyway) so it's on it's way to the trash can. I've been using Gmail and while I basically like it "so-so", it is difficult to "embed" graphics into the body of a message. While it can be done, it's a long drawn-out process which is a nuisance. Images can be "attached" very simply and quickly, but I prefer to "embed" rather than "attach".
I belong to lots of PSP graphic groups and create many artistic works which need to be posted to my group forums. "Embedding" is the best way to do this, so I am looking for an email program which allows embedding rather than attaching. Any and all suggestions will be most appreciated.
Thank you, Mrs. B

Hi Mrs Bond,
Try
Care2, it may help you.
Have you tried Hotmail, does it allow embedded graphics?
Here is an Outlook Repair
link that may help.

Thunderbird is the way to go...
It has many plugins that well allow you to customize it to your liking.
Very good, fast and secure...hard to beat.
Get it here..

Hi tallin and sharpshooter ........ Thank you gentlemen for your responses.
Tallin, I appreciate the links and will check out both of them. As for Hotmail - yes, I tried it waaaaaay back when and my opinion of it equates with my opinion of AOL and MSN, so I guess you could say Hotmail is not an option. LOL.
Sharpshooter, "Thunderbird" was my first thought when these problems first started and I realized I was going to have to find something new to use. However, I have always been under the impression that in order to use TB, one had to use FF as their browser. Since I use IE, I've just put aside any thought of trying TB.
Would you happen to know if TB works well with IE? If so, I shall definitely give it a try. Thanks much for your suggestion, and I shall await your reply as to the compatibility of TB and IE.

A tip I read other day.
Lightning for Thunderbird
The Mozilla Foundation's free Thunderbird e-mail program is great, but it lacks Microsoft Outlook's calendar and to-do list. The solution is Lightning, a plug-in from Mozilla that combines the foundation's Sunbird calendar program with Thunderbird's e-mail features. (If you don't use Thunderbird, Sunbird can be downloaded as a free, standalone tool.)

Found this site when browsing around, not heard of
Foxmail before, but it is worth a look for you to consider.
Let us know how you get on and what you eventually settle with.
Cheers

BusterB and Tallin ......... Hey guys, thanks much for the added info.
I'm going to take a look at the websites that contain the details about the extension plugins and see if they are things that will be valuable to me. I'm also taking a look at the FAQ documents just to see what they talk about and if they appear to be helpful and written in common sense English. So much nowadays is not, and if I can't understand it, I certainly can't use it. LOOOOL.
Think I might have to pass on the "Foxmail" idea. Comes from China with help files that are poorly translated does not sound like anything I want to get myself into. Thanks though for the thought and the link.
I really like that overall "freebie" site though with all the info about various different utilities. I'll be taking a look at that more in depth as soon as I have some extra free time. Looks like there might be some pretty interesting stuff there. Thanks!
I'll keep you posted as to my decision and the outcome thereof.

Mrs. Bond, why don’t you just reinstall Microsoft Office? This should take care of this problem.
